Dear Scottish Rite Brothers,
As some of you know, our Brothers to the north in the Valley of Marquette devised what I affectionately call an awesome “Scottish Rite non-Club Club”. What’s meant by that is it’s a lose configuration of dedicated Brothers within the Valley whose main aim is to spread the ideals of the AASR publicly, and without having the usual club leadership and dues. I’m sure you’ve seen many of us with special polo shirts emblazoned with our nicknames which are taken directly out of Masonic rituals. For example, mine is Zadok, and I’m the only Zadok in the Brothers of the Rite. Anywho, the Valley of Grand Rapids has been given the honor of initiating Brothers into the Brothers of the Rite organization ourselves. We can also begin to maintain our own ritual nickname list, so if you’re already a BoR Brother and aren’t thrilled with your nickname, you can chose a new one. And we can now stage our own Dirges anytime we chose!
Mark your calendars for our first GR BoR Dirge on August 18th! I guarantee you’ll enjoy it’s unique symbolism and deep meaning. You’ll seldom experience anything quite like it! And you just might know where to find your wooden leg! You’ll get my joke there later. 😉
These Brothers are all about having fun & fellowship. Registration is at 1pm with the event at 2pm. The BOR has no dues but you’ll need a shirt to participate. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com to reserve your spot & order your Custom Shirt.
And as always, THANK YOU for being a Scottish Rite Mason!
Yours in the Rite & Most Fraternally,
Todd Schmitz, 32° – President, Board of Trustees
